Reading Cujo

Posted on October 29, 2007November 25, 2024 by Steve Calvert

Last week I read Cujo. I have been meaning to get around to reading it for a while because I remember reading in King’s book On Writing that he can barely remember writing Cujo because he was drinking so heavily at the time. I’ll tell you what that man can write better drunk than most people could sober. Cujo is a great read. It’s a bit sad though, because the dog was just as much a victim as the people he killed.

Actually, if you’ve never read King’s book on writing, I can recommend it. The book is part autobiography and so is very much the story of the man behind the stories.
